Born in France, Catherine Malandrino knew her destiny from an early age. She pursued her dream of conquering the Paris fashion scene as a designer, and eventually the global fashion scene. In 1997, she chose New York to establish her fashion house and label. Zimco Optics, Inc. brought her vision to eyewear with the introduction of the Catherine Malandrino Eyewear collection.

Zimco describes the Malandrino woman as “…timeless, distinct, sophisticated, ultra-feminine, daring, and sensual.” The eyewear collection embraces these characteristics by incorporating unique artisanship, color palettes, and innovative draping skills in order to illustrate the brand’s enduring femininity.

The eyewear collection captures Malandrino’s signature look through color blocking, lace effects, and perforated leather. Each shape is unique and makes a statement while remaining wearable and flattering. The temples range in style from simple to dramatic, but all stay true to the Catherine Malandrino tenets of luxury and fine crafting.

The collection consists of 20 women’s ophthalmic and sun styles in rich acetates and chic metals using full-rimmed and semi-rimless construction. Each frame is marked with a subtle “Catherine Malandrino” logo plaque on the interior temple in Malandrino’s signature citrine color and comes with a luxury leather case and cleaning cloth.

To see how Zimco brings the style of Catherine Malandrino to eyewear, look at sunglass Style No. CM 901. This frame has a deep rich traditional light tortoise chassis accented with Catherine Malandrino’s signature citrine-colored metal temples.

Acetate sunglass Style No. CM 900 has clear eyewires and is detailed in solid black on the top front. The look of the frame gives a seamless flow across the top of the frame while ending at the temple tips where it blends effortlessly into a stitched design featuring the signature citrine color.

Style No. CM 103 showcases Malandrino’s signature color block look. This acetate frame has a conventional tortoise look on the upper portion of the eyewire, while the lower half appears to have been dipped in a luxurious blue. This unique combination is further detailed with vintage style rivets at the front’s endpieces. It has a design that will be comfortable at work or out on the town, and would equally be at home on a Paris catwalk.

A metal semi-rimless design, Style No. CM 106 is a real knockout. Sweeping, graceful lines make up the front, while the temples are detailed with geometric patterns. An endpiece cut-out complements the temple pattern for a smooth transition of style. In the gunmetal color, the soft look of the steel front is set off by the bold use of multi-layered acetate in light blue, white, and dark blue blending into the temple end.

An acetate frame with a slightly modified cat-eye shape, Style No. CM 108 offers an array of bright, colorful, translucent frame fronts such as black, purple, and tortoise, accompanied by wide temples adorned with a mix of Catherine Malandrino signature patterns and a logo plaque.
