Since 1935, SPERRY TOP-SIDER has been a leading footwear brand for consumers with a passion for the sea. From the introduction of the world’s first boat shoe to today’s performance and lifestyle collections featuring iconic design details and enduring style, Sperry Top-Sider remains at the vanguard of the nautical lifestyle. The brand encompasses clothing and accessories, including bags, wallets, watches, belts, hats, and scarves, which are inspired by a passion for all things nautical. Now, thanks to L’AMY AMERICA, the Sperry Top-Sider brand is available in eyewear too.

GETTING ON BOARD
The collection includes 22 women’s and men’s ophthalmic designs and 11 sunglass styles. The Sperry Top-Sider consumer is classified as “generational prep,” someone who puts a premium on living the good life with family and friends.

Using the latest advances in technology, iconic details from Sperry Top-Sider’s footwear collection have been integrated into the eyewear designs. Anchors and leather have also been utilized throughout the collection, combining vibrant color combinations and superior artisanship to create timeless contemporary styles.

With a playful nod to the brand’s nautical lifestyle, the new ophthalmic and sunglass collections have been named after seaside resorts, such as Eastham, Montauk, and Pawleys. All the styles feature the wave-siping pattern on the inside of the temple tips, as well as the brand’s signature grommet.

A CLOSER LOOK
Avon is a women’s modified cat eye with a softer, more subtle upsweep at the upper temporal corner. This casual, fun frame utilizes double laminations with beveling and laser-engraved details showing off the inside color and adding a pop of color. Orleans, a combination women’s frame, is a deep oval with a metal front and extended endpieces. The temples are made from a custom acetate with the signature Sperry Top-Sider pattern; the color complements the front. This frame can be dressed up or down for an afternoon of speedboating or a romantic dinner cruise.

Woodbridge is a men’s classic rectangle with a plastic front. The temples have a wood finish and feature a cut-out detail. Classy casual describes this frame-it’s perfect for exploring the coastline in a sailboat or heading full throttle out to sea. A men’s combination frame, Yarmouth has a sharp upper nasal cut and angular lower temporal corner. It has a bolder browline and lighter tone on the bottom rim. The triple-laminate temples feature a leather detail along the bottom. A strip of color on the top of the temple and along the leather detail lends interest to this otherwise conservative but elegant frame.

Vineyard Haven is a stainless steel aviator sun frame with a handmade acetate sweatbar and adjustable nosepads. The temples are leather covered and the CR-39 lenses come in a range of colors.

MAKING THE MOVE
Marketing materials include a 14-piece display with a washed wood look on the base that gives it a clean, nautical feeling. There are lifestyle images on the back board of the display too. A double-sided tent card and double-sided banner showcase lifestyle images. Each frame comes packaged in a sailcloth-inspired pouch featuring authentic sail stitching and grommet detailing along with a signature navy cleaning cloth.

Whether your patients are landlubbers or seafarers, the Sperry Top-Sider eyewear line fits fashionably with their lifestyles and is sure to be a hit in your dispensary.
