Nearly all of the five new models (each offered in four vivid color-ways) are constructed of acetate but RAEN promises other innovative styles and materials moving for-ward. The collection is unisex, targeting women and men in the 18 to 35 age range and is priced to accommodate this audience. While the retro-inspired look is evident in this line, its timeless shapes offer a modern classic touch with details to match.
Seaside is a 21st-century version of the 20th-century nerd look with all the latest finishing processes. Not a square, rectangle, or P3, Seaside has a deep enough B measurement without looking like it’s taking over the cheeks and the front has a perfectly rounded saddle bridge.
With a shape slightly off of a P3 and not quite oval, a generous B, and a simple two-rivet design on the temples, Saint Malo makes a perfect unisex frame. Leo Carillo’s variation on the P3 style uses a very generous B with a high-fitting keyhole bridge that’s designed to keep the frame off the cheeks, making it a very universal frame.
One of the previous four styles in the collection that remains a best seller is Underwood, another twist on a classic. The bridge alone is worth a second look. It’s not a keyhole and it doesn’t use adjustable nosepads. Going against conventional design, Underwood has a plastic form-fitted saddle bridge. The double-screw temples complete the retro look.
RAEN’s first foray into the ophthalmic realm marries its hip California lifestyle philosophy into the retro concept for a collection your patients will find exciting.
