Transitions Optical and Marie Claire hosted a special viewing party in New York City in late September for Project Runway’s episode “Blacklight or Daylight.” Co-host Tim Gunn and Transitions challenged contestants to design outfits that looked dramatically different from day to night. Designer Erin Robertson(above), who was on hand at the event, won for her sweet, flowy dress that revealed sexy undergarments under black light. Also present were Transitions “influencers” Coco and Breezy, twin eyewear designers, who were decked out in their latest Twizzler- and Jolly Rancher-inspired ophthalmics. SELIMA CELEBRATES 20 In the heart of Paris in September, Selima Salaun held a celebration for the 20th anniversary of her brand, Selima Optique. The City of Lights was selected because Salaun’s design journey took her from Kabyle roots in Northern Africa to New York, by way of Paris. Attended by guests of the trade and fashion industry, the four-day fête showed off special re-releases and limited-edition frames inspired by the ’70s (think Robert Redford in his sexy aviators or the great beauty of Paolo Sorrentino) for spring/summer 2017. Oversize metals, aviators and acetate round sunglasses with colored lenses in rose, light blue, green, red and yellow dominate this collection. Selima Optique, 212.677.8487,
