L’AMY PARTNERS WITH A&A OPTICAL FOR CHARITY.

A holiday donation program spearheaded by L’Amy America, now in partnership with A&A Optical, has provided thousands of frames to organizations such as Lions Club International, New Eyes for the Needy, Volunteer Optometric Services for Humanity, and Eyewear for Kids since its inception six years ago.Opticians sign up and keep track of all L’Amy and A&A Optical branded frames sold until December 31. OAKLEY REACHES NEW HEIGHTS.
For the third year in a row, Oakley brought its key accounts to Oakley VIP Days to discuss how the company and its accounts can bring their partnership to the next level. Company executives spoke about their vision for the future and guest speaker Heather Mercier, experticity, expanded on how product knowledge can take sales associates to a new level. Workshops on new technology, products, and the power of marketing gave attendees from optical shops and sun specialty stores a wealth of information to take home with them. EYE INTEL ON A SMARTPHONE.
Essilor rolls out the AskAboutEyes app, in partnership with AllAboutVision.com, which will help patients find reliable information or pinpoint their particular concerns before getting their eyes examined by their ECP. The new mobile site, which is available as a free download on the App Store and Google Play, is led by Paul Karpecki, OD, FAAO, a well-known practitioner. SHAMIR’S LIFESTYLE OPTIONS MAKE DISPENSING EASIER.
Finding the right lenses for patients will be a piece of cake with Shamir’s lifestyle categories that comprise Everyday (Progressive, Bifocal, Single Vision); Performance (Sport, Single Vision); and Occupation. The new setup makes it easier for ECPs to identify which product is the best fit for a patient. QSPEX LENSES, STAT!
Repositioning itself as a local lens supplier with same-day turnaround on Rx eyewear, QSpex Technologies now has QSpex Optical Service Centers which cast lenses on demand instead of surfacing them. ECPs order the lenses online, send the patient’s frame to the center via messenger, and hours later, the eyewear is delivered to either the customer’s office or directly to the patient in a Mercedes smart car. VSP’s FITTING APP.
The My Eye.D.™ free app, launched by VSP Optics to support the UNITY portfolio, allows ECPs to personalize lenses and coating options for each patient. After entering the Rx, an interactive screen allows the user to drag and drop activities into three buckets: Often, Sometimes, Never. Addi-tional lifestyle questions are asked and when submitted, the app generates options for the patient. The app is available for download through the App Store.
