Essilor’s next-generation progressive, Varilux X Series, allows clear vision at midrange distances…no head or eye moving needed! Today’s progressive lens wearer wants to be able to maintain sharp vision at all distances in different situations: from reading a book and using multiple devices at the same time to shifting vision between distances while driving. Enter Essilor’s Varilux X Series, the result of more than five years of research and 19 wearer studies that included more than 2,700 individuals. Engineered with the company’s Xtend Technology, which allows the wearer to see multiple distances through a single point in the lens, X Series provides crisp vision within arms’ reach without having to find “just the right spot.” According to Pete Hanlin, ABOM, director of technical marketing at Essilor of America, “The lens is an advancement over traditional progressives’ midrange zone that provide clear vision at only one distance at any given point in the channel.” Along with Xtend Technology, Varilux X includes Nanoptix Technology to reduce the “off-balance” often experienced with progressives and Synchroneyes for a more seamless transition between distances. W.A.V.E. (Wavefront Advanced Vision Enhancement) Technology 2 allows sharp vision at low light. Varilux X Series is now available as part of Essilor’s newly launched Ultimate Lens Package, which along with Crizal Sapphire 360˚ UV, Eyezen + 0 and Transitions Signature VII allows ECPs to customize the best solution to meet the needs of presbyopic patients.
