LOAD UP THE ‘SHOPPING CART’

WITH THE MAJORITY of households in the U.S. owning one or more computers, it’s no wonder that Internet retail
sales are soaring. What better way to get the goods you want without the hassle of shopping in stores? Online shopping brings convenience, a wide product selection, competitive pricing, quick access to information, and the ability to share knowledge with your peers.

SHOP ‘TIL YOU DROP
Being able to shop 24/7 makes buying goods and services a snap. While you might not get the face-to-face interaction with salespeople or immediate receipt of the products as you would at the mall, you’ll be able to look for good deals at any time of the day or night. And they are bargains galore—open up a search engine, enter your product wish, and up will pop an infinite number of sites that will give you a vast range of pricing. It’s up to you to simply choose which one offers the best bang for your buck.

BEING IN THE KNOW
While you may not get the “expert” advice from a store employee when shopping online, some sites offer live chats where you can “speak” to a customer service representative about your prospective purchases. You can also comment on or even rate your purchases. And of course there’s the area of social media that has expanded retail’s role in the Internet world—from both a retailer and consumer perspective.
