ESSILOR’S CRIZAL SAPPHIRE IS AS DURABLE AS ITS NAMESAKE. Essilor’s Crizal Sapphire™ lenses with Scotchgard™ Protector offer advanced no-glare performance through the Enhanced Light Transmission (ELT) System, which maximizes light transmission by reducing glare and visible reflections. As a result, Crizal Sapphire lenses have 50% less reflection than Crizal Avancé lenses with Scotchgard Protector. In addition, the SR Booster™ layer increases the scratch resistance of Crizal Sapphire, while Essilor’s proprietary High Surface Density™ (HSD) process improves cleanability with a contact angle of 116°. SHAMIR SV LENSES FOR THE WAY YOU WEAR THEM. To accommodate the way patients wear their frames, Autograph II – Single Vision™ is now available with As-Worn Technology™, which fine-tunes a patient’s Rx by calculating three distinct measurements: vertex distance (the distance between the lens and the eye), pantoscopic tilt (the angle at which the frame sits on the patient’s face), and panoramic angle (the angle of the frame itself). Because of its aspheric/atoric backside, the lens can be lighter, and minimized off-center errors can improve clarity for high plus patients. To produce a more eco-friendly lens, Swiss-based Wear-Lite is rethinking the way eyeglasses have been manufactured for more than half a century—grinding and polishing a blank into a lens, leaving 80% to 90% of the material wasted. The company reports, “In the U.S. alone, 80,000 tons of non-recyclable plastic waste could be avoided every year.” Each Wear-Lite lens uses 18g to 20g of material compared to the more traditional use of blanks weighing between 100g and 130g. Water and energy consumption are also reduced during the manufacturing process. For more information, contact Wear-Lite at 011-41-41-747-05-05 or wear-lite.com.
