L’AMY AMERICA’S RIDES INTO SPRING WITH NICOLE MILLER. The new spring/summer 2012 eyewear line of 19 ophthalmics and 15 suns boasts seven themes, each with its own characteristics and personality: celtic, bike lock (Carmine shown at left), nstar, grafik, material effects, bike plate, and bike chain and gears. While the collection draws from European and Canadian influences, the range’s New York vibe is unmistakable, with each style being named after a Manhattan street. Each design is adorned with a celtic cross, and key models include Greene and Stanton (shown above), with a modern shape and gothic feel, as well as Astor and Varick, which exhibit a bike chain profile on the temples. VIVA’S MARK NASON KNOWS HOW TO ROCK. The inclusion of dragons, roses, and crosses is a sure way to make this new eyewear collection more than a little bit rock ‘n’ roll. The Mark Nason eyewear collection has nine men’s ophthalmics, including key models MN Penn, which has a semi-rimless metal front, and MN Conner, featuring a handmade acetate and metal combination front. Both designs have engraved striped detailing and the Mark Nason logo on each temple. The four women’s ophthalmics feature handmade acetate, with MN Dessa and MN Lorna boasting a trio of metal crosses on the temples. On the sunwear side, the six women’s, eight men’s, and five unisex styles come with polarized, CR-39®, and CRXII lenses. MN Tessa, for women, is shown here. MARCHON JUMPS INTO SPRING WITH VALENTINO. With 27 sun designs and 16 ophthalmics, the newly released Valentino collection truly embraces variety. Lace, available in gray (shown here), brown, and burgundy, is a vintage-style model that features lace hidden on the bridge and temples, while Rockstud boasts tiny studs lined up along the top of an oversized square frame. On the temple, Valentino’s iconic “v” also functions as a hinge. The V Logo model features an injected frame with oversized round lenses, and a thin line of chromed metal and the “v” logo on the bridge. CLEARVISION GOES GLOBAL. ZYLOWARE GETS INKED. Tattoo-inspired art is the driving force behind Etched by Zyloware™, the new house brand consisting of 12 ophthalmics (six for women and six for men), within which all designs feature rich colors and fleur de lis. The men’s models boast daggers and tribal patterns, while women’s frames sport roses. NOUVEAU’S KAY BY KAY UNGER KEEPS THINGS FRESH. Throughout 2012, the Kay by Kay Unger line will continue to expand. The newest duo from Vera Bradley eyewear includes Shelby and Kaya, both of which feature Rhythm & Blues and Floral Nightingale colors on the interior temples. The exterior temples for both styles have recessed metal floral décor with contrasting enamel fill. Inspired by the art and architecture of Casa Malaparte, Persol’s Capri Edition features two models: one for women (Style No. PO 3025S shown here) and one for men. Both models highlight Persol’s trademark silver arrow, redesigned to draw from the shape of Casa Malaparte’s perimeter. TO NEW HEIGHTS.
The newest concept within the Marius Morel 1880 collection, Felix features laser-engraved patterns as an antique look that comes head-to-head with contemporary style.
