A wide range of sun lens colors are being introduced by Essilor Sun Solution, the Essilor Group division dedicated to plano sun lenses. The new collection for Spring Summer 2019 was created in collaboration with acetate trendsetter Mazzucchelli 1849 and trend-forecasting agency Peclers Paris.
Colorways in the “No Filter” collection are “Outdated,” a cute and nostalgic light range of colors that resemble saturated color whitened over time. From powder pink to sophisticated lilac to purple. “Ginger” features orange tones inspired by natural shades of hair, freckles and skin. “Neo Nudes” are nude tones that get darker. And “Iridescent Tye-Die” features blurred stains inspired by silk paintings that slightly color the lens like an almost transparent tie-dye.
The “Modern Standard” collection of plano sun lens colors “express the need to reinvent a shared society, improving daily life and making it gentler. What drives people together is what matters, not what drives them apart.” Colorways include “Urban Darks,” black and anthracite for drama – “Dark is the new black,” and “Primaries,” saturated tones of the three primary colors – blue, red and yellow.
The “Mediterranean Feeling” collection was inspired by the richness and diversity of the culture for which it was named. “Mediterranean feeling is a story of transformation, a throwback to a joyful golden age. A blend of tried-and-true classics with a pop twist resulting in playful and surprising combinations.” The three colorways are “Fresco Blue,” natural blues inspired by old traditional pigments used in Mediterranean decoration; “Olive,” green shades for a real homage to Mediterranean nature from the succulent plants to the olive trees; and “Spectacular Bouquet,” exotic flowers treated in a vintage style.”
