Sparkling, special and perfectly elegant, Judith Leiber Couture by Match Eyewear suits patients with a penchant for wearable art.

Her couture bags have been coveted by fashionable consumers of all ages and shown off by celebrities on countless red carpets for decades. Now, Judith Leiber’s blinged-out aesthetic debuts in a distinct eyewear collection with 13 ophthalmics and three suns created by Ethan Goodman, president and chief designer of Match Eyewear. Leiber’s “Polka Dot” bag served as the inspiration for the line.

Judith Leiber Couture, which represents a significant expansion of Match Eyewear’s Design Gallery division for the high-end boutique market. “The Judith Leiber Couture customer is whimsical, sophisticated, celebratory, innovative, unique and distinctive,” Goodman explained. “She is a woman who looks for wearable art that is always a conversation piece.” A bridge collection, JL by Judith Leiber, targets the style-savvy Millennial.

The development process challenged Goodman and his team creatively; they were tasked with interpreting what this customer would deem as wearable art in eyewear. Each style in the couture collection uses between 42 and 252 Swarovski crystals and is identified with a metal handmade cast insignia as a stamp of excellence in design for each temple tip. All acetate styles were produced in the latest materials from Mazzucchelli, and super lightweight titanium was employed in the ophthalmic collection. According to Goodman, each crystal is set and secured in clear epoxy for safe keeping from excessive wear.

“Our most favorite part of the design and development process was by far designing every frame to be a work of art, just as the bags are. We chose just the right amount of crystals in the varying colorations and shapes, using upscale materials that are warranted by a couture brand and then watching them turn into works of art. Each eyewear design was handmade with the highest attention to detail. They are literally statement jewelry pieces for your face,” he said. “The folks at Judith Leiber were by our side every step of the way and enjoyed the process just as much. It’s been thrilling to see these creations come to life!”

Goodman’s personal favorite is the JLC Solar Sun style, which features 252 Swarovski crystals-two 2.0mm round crystals, two 1.8mm round crystals, 64 1.5mm round crystals, 76 1.3mm crystals, and 108 1.2mm crystals. The company is looking forward to opening new high-end doors and has a dedicated team of trained Design Gallery associates to bring the Judith Leiber collections to your dispensary.
