There’s no doubt that our always- connected life means adults and children are spending more time on digital devices. This increases the risk for digital eye strain and poten-tial vision problems caused by expo-sure to Harmful Blue Light1. Eyezen™+ enhanced single vision lenses with the Smart Blue Filter™ feature from Essilor are exclusive to the indepen-dent ECP. The numbers truly tell the story: More than 90% of adults are at risk for digital eye strain and nearly 73% are unaware of the potential dan-gers of Harmful Blue Light to their eyes.3 Children are at risk too, as kids ages 10 to 17 typically spend three hours or more per day using an electronic device.4 Essilor recognized that tradition-al single vision lenses did not meet the needs that single vision wearers face in today’s digital environment. This is why the company launched Eyezen+ enhanced single vision lenses in 2016 to address digital eye strain and reduce exposure to Harmful Blue Light. Eyezen+ lenses are an everyday solution designed to improve vision by addressing the visual demands of people using smartphones, tab-lets and other digital devices. They help reduce exposure to Harmful Blue Light by at least 20% and allow single vision patients to experience greater visual comfort when using digital devices. Eyezen+ lenses are available in designs 1, 2 and 3. Each design provides varying levels of accom-modative relief for each single vision age group. The three Eyezen+ design options provide independent ECPs with a wide range of tools available to meet the needs of their single vision patients.
